Hampshire 'B', Jetsetters 'C' to contest final

Hampshire 'B' and Jetsetters 'C' will contest the final of the Supreme Ventures Limited Division 'C' Netball League at 4:15 pm today at the Leila Robinson Courts.

In the third-place play-off, Eden Strikers 'B' and New Kingston Raiders meet at 3:00 pm. The winners here will receive cash prize of $15,000 and the losers a cash prize of $12,000.

The finalists will vie for the coveted trophy and cash prize of $50,000 - $30,000 to the winners, and $20,000 for the runners-up.

Prizes and awards, including those for the Most Valuable Player, will be presented after the final.

Hampshire edged Eden strikers 27-26 to gain their place in the final, while Jetsetters 'C' had the better of New Kingston Raiders 25-18 to take their place.

Debi-Ann Cogheil netted 14 of 18 points, and Tauna-Shee Campbell hit 13 from 17 attempts for Hampshire, while Corriene Llewellyn scored 12 from 17 and Teri-Ann Castro 14 from 20 for the losers.

Meanwhile in the other game, Crystal Duffus placed 16 from 22 attempts and Winnette Henry nine from 17 for Jetsetters, while Tandra Thomas was successful with 16 from 24 and Kerry Levy two from three for New Kingston Raiders.

In games played in the Western Division 'B' League last Thursday, Arnett Gardens whipped Eden Strikers 'A' 37-29, and Hampshire 'A' stopped Jetsetters 'B' 30-29.

Games will continue next Tuesday in the Berger Paints Super League at this venue when defending champions Jamalco take on rivals Tivoli 'A', Molynes United 'A' face Windalco and Blades United tackle Omega 'A'. Match time is 5:45 pm.
